Look at the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR).
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR)
measures how well an air purifier removes dust, pollen and tobacco
smoke from the air. An air purifier with a higher CADR will reduce
airborne particles faster than one with a lower CADR. CADR ratings
are determined by an independent test laboratory and are verified
by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM).
Look at the type of filter.
The most efficient type of filter is a High Efficiency Particulate
Air Filter (HEPA), with no air bypass. Only the true HEPA systems
can remove up to 99.97% of all airborne viruses, bacteria, smoke,
pollen, mold and other particles from the air passing through the
filter for maximum air purity*.
Look at how many times the air is cleaned per hour.
Air changes per hour tell you how many times in one hour an air purifier
cleans or changes the air in a room. The more times per hour air is
changed and circulated, the fresher and cleaner the air is. So it
makes sense to look for an air purifier with high air changes per
hour, a high CADR rating, and a HEPA filter.
